BARRIE JOSEPH SALI

September 18, 1938 - January 13, 2016

Bold, brash, confident and dynamic. The family and friends of Barrie Sali wish to express their deep regret at the sudden passing of this proud Vancouver resident and businessman. Born on a farm in Saskatchewan into a large family he moved to Vancouver in the 1970’s to seek his fortune. This energetic, fast driving, wine aficionado and avid golfer drank deeply and fully of life.

A world traveler, he settled down only slightly in the later years as he grew the successful business Tim-Br-Mart to enjoy his proudest achievement, his family. His wife of 31 years Roxanne and his sons Max and Harrison shall always remember his hearty laugh, his quick wit and his love of barbecuing on the ocean deck. His many siblings and friends will always recall the broad smile, energetic nature and wry sense of humour.

Barrie will be remembered as a loving husband, a proud father, a loyal partner, a good brother and a trusted friend.

Barrie would wish to express his love and affection for all his siblings and their families incuding Marlene (Ed), Leanore (Tim), Diane (Barry), Jerome (Gerry), Pat (Alida), Len (Liz), Grant (Donna), Mike (Jacquie), Richard and Robert. He also says goodbye to all his many nieces and nephews.

Barrie would wish to give a special shout out to his best friend Tony Holler and his wife Barb and family for their years of amity, generosity, love and affection.

A bright light has gone out, but in the faces of his children and in the memories of his family and many friends, all of whom benefited from his acumen, guidance, generosity and hospitality, Barrie shall never be far away.

In lieu of flowers a donation can be made in Barrie’s memory to a charity of your choice.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 2:00 to 5:00 pm, with a short program beginning at 2:45 pm, on Thursday, February 25, 2016 at Shaughnessy Golf and Country Club, 4300 SW Marine Drive, Vancouver, BC.
