Klaas “Nick” Wever

1935 ~ 2017

It is with great sadness but eternal hope that we announce the sudden passing on to glory of Nick Wever on July 21, 2017.

Nick was born on March 10, 1935 to Jacob and Catherina Wever in Friesland, Holland where he grew up on a dairy farm. He immigrated with his family of 13 to Alberta, Canada in 1953. In 1961, he married Minety Withage. They first lived and worked in Raymond on the Keeler farm. In 1964, they settled on the Withage farm near Monarch where they raised their family of 7 sons and 1 daughter. Nick also was a member of the Nobleford CRC, as member, elder, cadet counselor and catechism teacher. He also was a board member and had a love for Immanuel Christian School. Nick loved the Lord, his wife and family, the farm life and people. In 1992, they moved off the farm into west Lethbridge where he enjoyed his yard, travelling, babysitting grandkids and retirement. In 2013, they moved into The View at Lethbridge where he enjoyed puzzling, carpet bowling and visiting.

Nick is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Minety Wever, as well as his sons Jack (Wilma), Charlie (Lisa), Mike (Linda), Dave (Diane), Wayne (Audra), Glen (Sonya), Phil (Linda) and daughter Melinda (Jeff) Notenbomer along with 30 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.
